Analytics | How to count images as pageviews?

Hi guys,

Any specific advice on how to set up analytics to account for images (via modal light box and/or direct link) viweing as pageviews?

Our website images are 80% infographics, meaning that most of our content is shown via images.
We used to run Analytics by YOAST, which allowed for images to be accounted for as pageviews but we removed it since it seemed to be duplicating pageview count in the website.

We would like to count the image actions as pageviews, regardless if we set them up in modal or direct link, any special info on this or should we just follow general info on the web on how to set up analytics to count virtual pageviews?

Thanks in advance, cheers

Hi

I can’t point a specif way in this regard as we didn’t made any tests and I am not sure if analytics will count any image from post content. Here you may find some info which may help you: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1012044?hl=en IF this does not helps most likely you will need a custom script which will count the click per image.
We can’t offer customization services at the moment so if you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you.

Thanks!
