Hello,
I have a question about implementing the analytics code in the theme panel vs in the gdpr compliance plugin.
It is required to ask users for their consent about analytics and I can use the gdpr compliance plugin to do this. It asks me to add the analytics code.
But I can also add the analytics code to the theme panel. When I do this and not add it to the plugin settings, will that work? Or should I only add it to the plugin? Will I have all the functionality then?
Many thanks!
Hello,
My question is not if the analytics code will work but how it works with the gdpr compliance plugin. Users should be able to disable it if they don’t give consent. Will that work if the code is only in the theme panel, or do I add it to both or just to the plugin?
Thanks
It isn’t allowed anymore to just add the code, you need the consent of the visitors for using it. But you’re also recommending a consent plugin that is out of date. I think you haven’t recognized yet that legal things are changing and are getting stricter.
Hello!
Our theme does not yet have a system for GDPR and the tested plugin has not been updated to use analytics codes.
But, if you want, you can test other GDPR plugins and put your analytics code in those plugins. You haven’t to necessarily use the tested plugin if it’s not suitable for you.
Thank you!
The plugin can be used with analytics, but so can the theme. Should I use the theme to insert analytics and will that work with the plugin or do I enter the analytics code in the plugin settings?
