Animated GIF Thumbnails

Hello,

Does Newsmag support animated .GIF thumbnails and animated .GIF featured images?

I’m sure it used to display them but I think that perhaps after installing WP Retina plugin, it has stopped displaying them.

Please let me know if the theme can do it on its own?

Hi

The theme can display animated gif only in post content, not on modules. If you add a gif image in post content it will be displayed fine, but if you set it as featured image then will not be rendered as gif, but as a normal image.
You can try use a plugin like Animate Gif Resize to get the gif image work on modules and blocks https://wordpress.org/plugins/animated-gif-resize/ Note that we didn’t tested this plugin and I can’t grantee that will work 100% with our theme.

Hi there,

I have the same issue here http://www.somethingcool.ca, and all featured gif images were animated on home page before the last update not they are not, please help

Animated gif images do not work on modules so any animated image which will be set as feature image will not work, it only works if you add it in post content: http://screencast.com/t/bPTGx1Ko
