Any plans on a wider theme layout please?

I have been using Newspaper for quite a while now and I am totally happy with it except for one point: please consider implementing a wider layout option. I have tried customizing on my own, but I could not get the desired results.
I would like to see the following combinations available as options if possible:

Full width top menus with

  • boxed content
  • custom body background color
  • boxed footer or full width footer

Wider content area (article + sidebar)

Thank you,

Hello,

Thank you for your suggestions. I will pass this information on to the development team but I cannot promise they will decide on it though. The theme width is very hard to change as all the theme elements need to be adjusted in order to make them display proper in a different layout width. Our theme elements were all designed based on the fixed with. Changing the width means changing all elements and it will be no easy task to do.

Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. I totally understand the challenges because I tried to make changes on my own and I am aware of the difficulties.

How about a creating and launching a new theme with a wider content area? I am more than willing to pay a premium price for something like that and your team’s high quality work gained my trust for good. Maybe you can start the new theme development as a crowd-funded project, I am ready to support with periodical donations during development and then buy a copy of the theme when it’s published.

Hi,

This will have to be discussed with the decision making party though. We have not started any such projects before. I will pass on the information and if we agree to this we will contact you via email. We have no plans on creating a new theme for the moment though. We do appreciate the support and we are happy to see our hard work is appreciated. Multumesc.

Thank you for your message!
