before I tried it on a live site, I thought I’d check to see if anybody else had tried out the beta “AMP” plugin for WP, to optimize a better mobile experience for those platforms that plan to support it?

Well.. it makes the site compatible with the AMP protocol. If you read-up on what that is, it’s self explanatory.
It creates a super optimized version of page for mobile which loads at pagepermalink/amp/
I was curious of anybody had tried it yet with TagDiv themes, or just *any* WP website at all?

I guess the main thing it does is strip out javascript ?
Not a lot of info out there yet — like in our case running mod_pagespeed would it be necessary?
hmmm… kind of kewl …
testing this on our production site (yeah, I know, crazy?) ….
basically after install, and then flushing permalink cache, we get a new schema added which appends /amp/ to end of all post URLs, giving us an optimized “instant mobile friendly page” …
seems to work:

This is a couple of versions back of Newsmag, not ‘fully’ optimized per my own guide on the forum (ahem), and running mod_pagespeed.
