On this page – https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2020/04/27/jj-04-60-in-my-opinion-eddie-harvey/ AdSense ad code entered into Article Top and Article Bottom fields don’t produce full widths (I want something like the Header ad). It doesn’t matter if I specify width at 728 x 90 or set format to auto. It only gives a narrow, small horizontal ad, say 50% of the size I expect. I want the ad the same width as the text below it. Can anything be done about this?
Detail:
I put this code in Theme Panel/Ads/YOUR ARTICLE TOP AD (note the specific dimensions: width:728px;height:90px):
<script async src=”https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>
<!– JJ display horizontal 1 –>
<ins class=”adsbygoogle”
style=”display:inline-block;width:728px;height:90px”
data-ad-client=”ca-pub-7426344127145001″
data-ad-slot=”2925354814″></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>
I put this code in Theme Panel/Ads/YOUR ARTICLE BOTTOM AD (note the unspecified dimensions: data-ad-format=”auto”):
<script async src=”https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>
<!– JJ display horizontal 2 –>
<ins class=”adsbygoogle”
style=”display:block”
data-ad-client=”ca-pub-7426344127145001″
data-ad-slot=”8739066075″
data-ad-format=”auto”
data-full-width-responsive=”true”></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>
I now see I can adjust size in Theme Panel/Ads/YOUR**AD/Advance Usage.
But above that parameter Theme Panel says: “If you leave the AdSense size boxes on Auto, the theme will automatically resize the Google Ads.”
Is the theme no longer resizing AdSense ads? I wouldn’t have thought AdSense would intend them to be so small.
For your info, I have now reverted YOUR ARTICLE TOP AD to data-ad-format=”auto” as using Google’s fixed size has no effect.
Lastly, I have placed code in the Footer Top field but no ad appears:
<script async src=”https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>
<!– JJ display horizontal 1 –>
<ins class=”adsbygoogle”
style=”display:block”
data-ad-client=”ca-pub-7426344127145001″
data-ad-slot=”2925354814″
data-ad-format=”auto”
data-full-width-responsive=”true”></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>
Thanks

Thanks – and the Footer Top ad? I am still seeing no ad above the footer.
Hi Vlad – no, that ad is set Theme Panel/Ads/Article bottom ad. I mean the Footer ad set at Theme Panel/Ads/Footer top. I have placed this code in the field YOUR AD CODE:
<script async src=”https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>
<!– JJ display horizontal 1 –>
<ins class=”adsbygoogle”
style=”display:block”
data-ad-client=”ca-pub-7426344127145001″
data-ad-slot=”2925354814″
data-ad-format=”auto”
data-full-width-responsive=”true”></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>
but nothing appears.
Thanks
Mark
