Article top ad – not using Adsense

Hi support,

I would like to use the different adspots in articles / posts.

Right now I am trying to get a banner (300×250) to be shown here: “Article top ad”.
But nothing happens… :-/

I am using this code:

From the Theme Panel I can get the “Header Ad” and “Sidebar Ad” (using “Custom ad 2”) working. But not the 3 article ads.

Changing the template for the single posts makes the article ads working.

It is a bit confusing that something works from the Theme Panel and something else work from the templates. Maybe I just don’t understand the fundamentals of Newspaper :-/
