Hi,
I´m using the Newspaper theme along with a plugin called IssueM (https://sv.wordpress.org/plugins/issuem/) for publishing digital issues and we have a problem that we don´t know how to solve. In WordPress we use IssueM plugin for articles related to a magazine issue and “posts” for separate articles, because we want to separate these.
The problem is that the articles created by the IssueM plugin won´t show when clicking on the category that the articles is related to. The separate articles that is created using ”Post” are shown though when clicking on a category. For instance: if I go to the current issue, click on an article and then click on that category (web for example), only the articles from “posts” will be shown.
I´ve tried to go in under “separate articles” -> web category on our site and through magazine issue -> web category, and they both link to the same page (where the articles from IssueM are not displayed).
In WordPress, under both “posts” -> “categories” and “articles” -> “article categories”, the same categories are shown. And they display the same amount of articles under the categories, so I guess they sync somehow. But there seem to be a problem with how they are displayed, since the category tags won´t show in the gallery of articles from an issue as well.
I´ve got the latest version of WordPress and the IssueM plugin.
Do anyone know how what might cause this issue and how to solve it?
Thank you in advance!
Kind regards,
Therese
Hello,
From what I can tell you want to show a custom post type in a standard category. A custom post type has a custom taxonomy as well.. Only posts with a post type of ‘post’ can show under the taxonomy called a ‘category’
The plugin you use is not tested so i cannot say for sure if the plugin will work properly with our theme or not.
The only tested and recommended plugins to use with our theme are these ones:
WP Super Cache- caching plugin
Contact form 7- used to make contact forms
bbPress- forum plugin
BuddyPress- social network plugin
Font Awesome 4 Menus- icon pack, supported in the theme menus
Jetpack- plugin with lots of features *it may slow down your site
WooCommerce- eCommerce solution
WordPress (Yoast) SEO- SEO plugin
Wp User Avatar- Change users avatars
WPML – multilingual plugin
Anything beyond this list is not tested and I cannot say for sure if it will work or not.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hello,
I see. Thank you for your answer and have a nice day!
Kind regards,
Therese
