Author Box VC Block – User role filtering

Hi,

The user role filtering is not working properly in this VC Block. I am in need of 3 different boxes, showing 3 different user roles. But they just show all authors in all 3 boxes. How can i fix this so that i have 1 box for editors, one for contributors and one for admins?

Hello momo,

The simplest method in this regard is to use the Exclude and Include authors by ID’s, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/xRQv7LYHsYWY Also, if you want, you can try to develop this adding some condition in the backend but please notice that to do this is required to have some coding skils for editing the td_block_authors.php, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/GR50lFcd9YRz
If you want to display more levels in this regard and you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this case, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!

Hi again,

I have already tried this but it is also not working. Is there not a way to make use of the “User Roles” field? I have around 60 users and it would be nice if they were placed automatically by their role in the correct boxes.

I have no problem hiring a freelance/developer to help me, but as the function is built into the theme, it should work without that being necessary, since the theme has already been payed for.? Am i wrong?

Hello momo,

I have done a lot of tests in this regard with as Administrator, Subscriber, Author and this option seems to work like a charm. Please ensure that you correctly set this option from here -> http://screencast.com/t/Q2Ve9039zlWf
Make sure if you are using the latest version of the theme (and required plugins) and also, the latest version of WordPress (v.4.5.3).
Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
