Author page

Hi,

I’ve set my website to allow users to signup, but I have an issue. Although the new user’s default role is Subscriber, its frontend page uses the template for the “Author”, and it’s an inconvenience.
How can I fix this and use a unique page for subscribers?
Regards,

Hello,

You can assign a template global for Subscriber and for authors/admin/editor you can assign other template => https://i.imgur.com/0MuELvW.png

Thank you!

Hi anamaria

We have actual authors and there’re subscribers. I can’t choose subscriber template in the theme panel. There’s only authors listed. So new subscribers are always SEO’d as author.

It is confusing…because I can only assign new author template to administrators not to subscribers.

Hello,

Please try to set a global template, and then that template will be for subscribers and if you want you can set other templates for authors.

Thank you!

Hi There

Your solution works for only template switching not for membership status. We have to go one by one for each subscriber to disable YOAST or WPML settings.

what is your solution as SEO wise to fix this?

This issue should be considered in the next update I guess.

Hello @fatih-2!

Yes, in the theme panel you can set only for admins and authors. But, you can choose a global template which applies for all users including subscribers in the Cloud Templates. Separately, for authors you can choose a template from the theme panel settings.
For SEO, we recommend Yoast plugin which is tested with our theme: https://yoast.com/
You can choose other plugin which suites you the best, but take care for a future plugin conflict.

Thank you!
