I am making a professional magazine where I publish articles from many different authors. How do I set up the author page for these many different authors? I do not want them to be added as users; they are never to go onto the site themselves. But it is important that I can show readers the author details.

In order to display some informations about post’s author that must be registered in database as a user. This is the WordPress functionality in this regard and cannot be changed easily.
You can add the authors as users in your WordPress database and use a plugin to limit their’s roles and capabilities. For example you can allow authors to only write and publish posts.
