Hi,
I have an author profile completed and also set up a page to display all authors. When I try to preview the author page or click on the author name to take me to the author page I get directed to the site homepage.
Any ideas on how to resolve?
i also facing this error. if i have a category http://www.site.com/category/ than in google webmaster tools it gives me error that http://www.site.com/category/author is unreachable (i wonder how this url is created :O ) than i apply 301 redirection to redirect from http://www.site.com/category/author to http://www.site.com/category/
Any help on this would be great. I have an authors page (http://www.honestcarreviews.com/authors/) using the Authors box and also an author profile but when I click on the link I am re-directed back to the home page.
I have also set up a page using the About Me block (http://www.honestcarreviews.com/graham-ferguson/) expecting this is where the above pages should link to.
Why is this not working as there is no documentation on this, please help!

Hi,
Please check this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN. Also re-save your permalinks and see if you still have this issue. I also checked this using latest version of the theme and did not found any issues and when you click on author it link to author page.

Thanks Alin. Having followed your instructions it was working fine until I switched on the WordPress SEO by Yoastplug in. I understand the theme is compliant with this plugin so I would be grateful for any suggestions as to why this should be breaking this.

I resolved this, it was the ‘Disable the author archives’ setting in Yoast SEO.
