Author Permalink is Exposing the Username

I think this should be changed immediately. The theme is exposing the username/login name of the authors for example:
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/author/marius/
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/author/marius2/

With that you are absolutely sure that marius and marius2 are usernames that you can use.
Wordpress I think doesn’t allow this. It could be a security risk for some sites using this beautiful theme.

Additional, it should be something that is set at the Users> Your Profile > Display name publicly as

That is managed by WordPress — not by the theme. It’s possible some theme’s have been hacked to change that behavior, but WordPress always creates the author index based on the user ID (123) and/or the pretty name which is also the user name (johnsmith).

See the WordPress Codex to learn how WordPress functions.

This forum is not for basic WordPress functionality.

This is why it’s important for security to:
a) enforce strong passwords ALWAYS
b) disable ability to edit core files from WordPress panel
c) use tools like Limit Login Attempts, to stop people from sitting there guessing the password more than 4 times.

It’s not a simple subject, but if you wish to hack your install of WordPress — if you do some research you’ll run across past discussions of this here:

Hope that helped 🙂

I’ve ben “suffering” WordPress for 10 years now – welcome to the adventure!
