Hi. Last week I did a manual upgrade of Newspaper 4 to 6.5. (I had to do it manually because the Envato Tool Kit plugin kept giving a 404 error when I clicked on the auto ‘upgrade’ link.)
This week – I was sent notification of another upgrade available (to 6.5.1) – but again, when I click on the link in the Envato Tool Kit – it gives a 404.
I have unticked the ‘skip theme backup’…but still I get the 404.
Obviously I don’t want to do the whole thing manually again (I lost vital customisations last time.)
I have a multisite install (although the theme is only running on the main ‘www’ – but the install takes place in the network).
Please help! Thank you!

before doing auto-updates, good idea to download and review the changelog. For the latest update, for example, the only thing that changed was update to visual composer for a security patch and so you didn’t need to update the “whole theme,” and just update the plugin.
Manual install is still always “safest” way to go as the Envato thing sometimes just simply does not work and I totally abandoned even trying to use it, for exactly the issue you are now facing!
Just an opinion, food for thought.

BUT please help – where can I find this changelog? I am battling to navigate around the site. The changed_files html page that was in the upgrade folder I downloaded lists “all the changes between v 6.4 and v 6.5.1” (which is a fairly long list) – but I am upgrading from 6.5 to 6.5.1 so where is that changelog?
And pls confirm – may I disable and remove the entire Envato Tool Kit plugin (since it doesn’t look like I’ll be using it).

Hi normally it’s in the “all files” download. I didn’t look this time for 6.5.1, sorry; just presumed it was there.
I also come back here to see if any issues prior to install from “first adopters,” and TagDiv had mentioned it here too.

Yes, you can remove the envato updater entirely. I don’t have that on any of my sites anymore. Nothing but problems!
