Automatic search result/suggestions – theme feature

I get to understand that Newspaper uses the native search function of WordPress, but if someone types a search term in the search box (default position in header), the theme returns some search results even if the user does not hit “Enter” or click on the “Search” button. Is there anyway to disable this feature? Because every new character typed by a visitor on the website could potentially mean a new search being performed, thus using higher resources than needed.

Hi,

That would be the live search. By a theme option it cannot be disabled, only by a modification in the theme code

The respective function would have to be commented or removed to disable the live search
