Automatically load the theme's .mo file using 'load_theme_textdomain'

Dear all

I am using WPML for translation. The WPML plugin in its newest version is working perfekt without any issues (Widgets, top-bar integration. etc…).

In the WPML settings “Theme and plugins localization” I have the possibility to set the following:

If your theme and plugins include .mo files with translations, these translations will always be used. This option allows you to provide new and alternative translations for texts in the theme and in plugins using WPML’s String Translation.

() Translate the theme and plugins using WPML’s String Translation
(X) Don’t use String Translation to translate the theme and plugins (my choice)
(x) Automatically load the theme’s .mo file using ‘load_theme_textdomain’.Enter textdomain value:

My question: what is the textdomain value????

my MO-files exist and is stored under: MO file in /var/www/vhosts/drivers-of-digitization.com/httpdocs/blog/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/translation

Many thanks for the great support and all the best for 2017.

BR
Tobias

Hello tobiasschmidt@gmx.ch,

Sorry but WPML is not a tested plugin so I cannot provide any solution in this regard. Here is a list of our tested plugins: http://screencast.com/t/Ue4qn9S1dRTM
You can try free free multilingual plugins such as qtranslate-x, but we have no recommendation to make.
Sorry but plugin implementation is not part of the theme support. (https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/)

Thank you for your understanding.

Ok of course I understand this. Thanks for your feedback. Is it possible to explain, what a text domain value in generell is?

ThxTobias Schmidt

Well since the term is used in the plugin documentation a quick search on the plugin author’s page and you will see you are not the only one asking this question:)

I hope this helps.
Thanks.
