Good evening,
I would like to insert background ads in my site.
As you can see from here https://labussolanews.com/category/teatro/ the background works, I’ve only set it for this category.
The problem is that it works fine in 1920 x 1080 resolution. If I view the page in a PC that has a lower resolution, the ad is covered by the site layout. How do I keep the site layout of the same size?
Is it possible to put this background in a random rotation? Because I tried with Ad-Rotate but I can not insert advertisements in the background.
thank you
Hi,
That would be the intended behaviour. The theme has a content container size, the background is set for the this content container. This space to be more exact

It is not a background for the actual content but for the outer space. As the width is reduced the outer wrap space will slowly be reduced, until the content of the page occupies 100% of the available space. That would leave no room to display a background, there is no outer container.
The theme container width is 1068px, 1164px with a background set. A full HD image as you use would be sufficient as a background. Like in this example

A rotating ads option does not exist at this moment. Adrotate should work properly with the theme, many users recommend it. Mayeb double check your settings

Thanks
so it’s okay as I set it up? But then again, the advertising is covered in monitors with lower resolution … the big problem is for the text inside the ad that is partially covered (you can try just zoom in the page to 125% for example). The customer will not be fine.
If you zoom to that value the page with background would look like this
– http://prntscr.com/k1zr54
The background will still be visible but by a smaller size, since the website is zoomed in. But that would happen with any website if you zoom in.
The zoom in is just for let you understand what people with lower resolution monitor see…
The right side text will be cropped out. Can you see the link i posted? In my pc works flewless but tried with a 1240 monitor and most of the image will go over the website recipient… there is no solution for this?
Of course if the background ad is just an image it can works anyway, but the problem is the text.

I don’t know what you could do so that all users will see this the same. Indeed on smaller resolution monitors the focus will be more on the content, the background by the sides will be cut off as much as needed. There will be no room or space for a background as on larger resolutions.
The theme width would be standard for a website. You would need to have a much lower content width in order to take into account smaller resolutions displays, but then what would happen for larger resolution devices? there will be more unused space. It would be best to situate in the middle.
ok… so my set up is ok right?
I’m trying with the background ads to show only in a specific cateogry. So istead use the theme panel, background, i went to categories and set the background from here. The problem is that i can’t set the external link only for this category. If i go to ADS background click ad and i put my link here, every background will get this link.
And i cannot set adrotate in the background because for make it works, you have to set the adrotate ID in the widget sidebar but the background doesn’t have a sidebar spot.
You can use that setting to set a background for a particular category. Note that each post that have that category as primary, will inherit the background

But as you say, the background link can be set only in general, not per category. So a link can be set for the whole website only, not individually by page.
Ok thank you.
Maybe add the background link category in the next update and also a easier ads customization without using external plugin like adrotate.
The killer feature can be to add an ADS panel with more customization and just, for example, the ability to upload jpeg or png for the advertising, without adding code or other stuff.
I will add this as a suggestion, there are many suggestions however. All will be inspected but it is very difficult to decide what gets implemented and what gets delayed or not considered. We try to add more with each theme update. Sorry for any inconvenience.
You can create any page with the composer, that will allow you to use a sidebar or not, per page. Design it in any way you want.
I see you have only a contact form in the contact page. So you could create a new page, place a text element in it, enter the contact form shortcode in it

Then save the page and view it. There will be no sidebar, only the contact form. Use the row layout you want for the page

Hey, you say the container is 1068px but with a background is 1164px. When sending specs for a background image ad to my advertiser, do I tell them 1068x or 1164px content width?
Hi,
@PAPPACLART It would be 1164px with a background set in the theme panel.
