Hi, I’ve started learning how to use Newspaper X, after working with version 9, and I don’t understand why my background images look so blurry. I am learning using the Beauty Pro template. The hompepage looks perfect, of course:
https://seashore.nl/nieuw/
But when I add a background image, even when replacing it with the same image from the library you use for the template, I get this:
https://seashore.nl/nieuw/homepage-test/
So, what seems to be the issue here?
Regards,
Martin.

Hi,
The background image can be blurry when the image is smaller and need to be stretch or when you have set a smaller thumb for that image, make sure that you set the full size for the image that you have set as background, for example-> https://i.imgur.com/UVlTXgy.jpg
Hope this will help you!
Thank you!
Err, well, no. I do use photos with the correct dimensions, I understand that. Like I said, for this page I used the same photo the template uses: https://seashore.nl/nieuw/homepage-test/
It’s dimensions are 1920 x 1440 pixels.
And for this page, I even used a 3504 x 2336 photo:
https://seashore.nl/nieuw/homepage-test2/
Blurry again.
It seems that Newspaper somehow converts the photos to a kind of smaller ‘thumb’ with a 1024 px width.
Hi Calin.
We are having a similar issue – the images we are using are the correct size (1920 by 1280 pixels), but for some reason become blurry when inserted into the background. Even reverting to the original image supplied by the theme now renders a blurry background image.
What should we do?
Thanks,
Greg
Hello Greg!
Upload again the image in full size and set it again as full size as you can see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/Oxue274e
In the flex blocks you can choose which image size each should use: https://www.screencast.com/t/r3Dzcmj94gVL
Thank you!
