background color in header

How do i select a background color for the “grid” part of the page?

For example on the video example site http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_video/ the grid area has a dark gray background. I can’t see how to recreate.

Best way I know is to create a page on a full width site (no background image or color set in theme settings, not boxed layout) and create the grid in a page in it’s own full width row, then use the design tab in the options for the row to select the color you want as the background.
