Background Issue on Mobile IOS – Chrome Browser

Hello,

When I view my home page or a blog post on Chrome for IOS, there is a strange issue that occurs with the background image. As you scroll up or down the page, the background image appears first and then the modules appear over top. It looks very strange, might be a bug. Even when everything has loaded, it keeps showing the background image repeatedly as you scroll up and down the page.

It creates a somewhat poor user experience.

When I try this on Safari, it only happens at the very top of the page – the background can be seen and then the navigation loads.

I’ve tried enabling or disabling various background features but it still seems to happen.

I’m using version 6.6.5., site is http://www.comics2film.com

Thanks

Hello TheRiz,

I have checked your website on Chrome and Safari for IOS on Mac and everything seems to work as expected, without any issues as you said above. Please try to clear all your browser cache and test it again, maybe it might be caused by this, as you saw on your side.

Thank you for the message!

Thanks for the reply. It also happens on iPad with Chrome – here is a screencast of the issue:

Apologies for the video being sideways, hopefully you don’t hurt your neck 🙂

I use block 15 on the home page multiple times along with custom ads in this section.

Hello,
Unfortunately your video does not seem to work on any of our devices pc/mac/ipad/ipod/iphone/android/ nothing.
Please provide a working video or other details so we can inspect the issue.
Thank you!

Hi,

I have checked into this and it seems that chrome on iOS has this issue. It seems it renders a bit slow and that is why the background is visible. It only happens if you scroll fast enough so chrome cannot keep up the pace. (It also happens on our live demo but not so visible as on your website as you have more elements on your webpage and it is heavier on chrome’s renderer) There is a way you can diminish this effect, if you deactivate the smooth scroll from the theme panel :http://screencast.com/t/N9MdKGl1yt
You can also try to disable/enable the lazyload animation as well to see if it has any effect on rendering speed: http://screencast.com/t/9SnvsJFM
Another thing you can do is to increase your page loading speed: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.comics2film.com%2F&tab=mobile
You can follow this guide to see how you can have a better loading time:

I hope this helps.
Thank you!
