banner ads work on mobile for other themes but not newspaper

I have a banner ad (728×90) and when i post it on my newspaper 8.0 theme the mobile version is cut off. We put the same banner ad on other wordpress themes and the mobile version adjusts for the size.
Does newspaper not have this capability?

I will need more details in this regard so I can provide a proper answer. How are you implementing the banner in our theme?
