You show a reference site called beautifulworld.com. They use a homepage created with a page and are linking to another page and not to a post. How is this done?

Also, why is the video not playing?
At the top section is a gray background. How do i eliminate this?

1) Where is the link to another page you mention in the site you exemplified?
2) What is that raw html and how was it added?
3) It is because of the broken html structure that make an overlay over the video. Please remove your custom html as it is not done properly.
4) It is a column section setting added by you in the page builder. Please try to recreate the page from scratch as it is not very complex and try to test it after each change you make in the page builder.

1. click on the homepage on “Denali National PArk” and it goes to the detail page which looks to me like a page and not a post. If it should be a post, then how do they insert the Google map as the map insert is only available via the visual composer and that only works for pages.

They are all posts not pages.
If you want to make a block link to a page though you cna do it from the block settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-block-settings-tutorial/ and check the post type feature.
