best free newsletter plugin with newspaper? And any popup plugin?

Hi,
I am wondering which newsletter client to go for which works best with the newspaper theme. Any suggestions on the free ones, which can send to atleast 5000+ email addresses.

And any good popup plugin where i can put its subscribe to news letter widget or the social widget?

Hi,

Unfortunately we haven’t tested any plugins that could help you so that we can guarantee it will work therefore I suggest you try to find online that fulfills your needs then test it.
I could recommend you mailchip: https://wordpress.org/plugins/mailchimp-for-wp/ as I’ve seen other theme users use it but I can’t guarantee it will work flawless with the theme as it hasn’t been tested.

1) bumps don’t do anything … stop it 😉

2) we use mailchimp here after testing various other things, and so far seems best for “it works,” and “it’s cheap/free” 🙂

Chris, first of all thanks for all the comments you put on the forum. I read yours all the time and they’re truly useful. Second, I saw that you use MailChimp popup forms. Do you use any other popup (like Optin Monster) for email lead capture on your Newspaper site? I see that Mailchimp has a very basic popup form that I’m not totally satisfied with visually. Until now I’ve been using the paid SumoMe popup, but it seems to be slowing down the site a lot and opening it up to hacking attempts more…
