Best way to show featured image as header image (fullwidth)

I would like a post to behave like the main page here: http://atriparoundtheworld.nl/
I think the most easy way is somehow getting the featured image in that location somehow. If there is a better way I’d be happy to know too. http://atriparoundtheworld.nl/?p=150 I would like the temple image from this example page to behave as the homepage image does.

If there is good documentation on this kind of stuff, please tell me 🙂
