Better Image Gallery

Hi

I have a default image gallery on the following page:

However, it is not particularly pretty and doesn’t work great in full screen on either desktop or mobile.

Ideally I would like to produce something like the picture below:

Gallery Example

I would like to have the main featured image at the top of a post with thumbnails of other pictures below it. These pictures would be scrollable and if you click on them the picture would populate over the top of the featured image. If you click on the picture in the featured image box the gallery will load in full screen. In full screen mode you will be able to scroll through the images.

Is there a way to do this with Newspaper or any of the plugins that come along with it? If not have you seen a plugin that would integrate like this?

I do prefer another inbuild gallery option too. The Jetpack sucks…

There is no plugin to do that. 🙂 We working to create a built-in better gallery, but will take some time.
