We are using the big grid full 1 on the homepage but the thumbnail is not displaying the full image even though the image is larger. This happens on desktop and not on tablet or phone.

The thumb size of the grid is 1920 X 0. Is not suppose to cut the height of the image right?

Yes the thumb size of the grid is 1920 X 0, but your image have the height 1080px, is to big for the big grid full 1 (height: 480px), that way your image is set as cover.
