I have a problem with big grid slide.
I set the slide in my website http://www.labussolanews.com
1- i want to see the category before the title, like this one https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-slide/
remove the author name and keep the date.
2- Also in mobile layout it cause some problems. The longest title go outside the image box and there is too much space between title and the lower edge. (see attached below). https://ibb.co/jj2d7q
3- Is it possible to scroll only the first big image instead of the whole block?
4- Is it possible to make the side arrows always visible instead of showing them only when you go over it?
5- another problem is that the smaller images, in the mobile version of the site, shrink not proportionally, are crushed laterally and the image become distorted (I refer to the last 2 of the block, see the image)
OT question:
i set a background ads image with url and I have increased the space between the browser header and the site layout box (with the advanced css code, only in desktop).
6- I notice that in the mobile version, when pages or articles are loading, it show for 2/3 or 4 seconds the background ads (in this case i see the amazon logo at the top, see my homepage). Is there a way to prevent background from loading in the mobile version?
7- Last question. I create the background layout with photoshop. I set the document at 1920×1080. I also create a 1163 white box for see the size of the site and left 115px from the top. Are this dimensions correct? Because the background doesn’t fit the whole white space around the site. Now you see it right because I took the width to 2200 to cover everything, but i don’t know why with 1920 does not work. Maybe because the browser bar? Can you send me a .psd file with the correct layout for create custom background?
Thank you for your patience
Hello axehorde,
1)Here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/xWgKo1g6zK is talking about category tag which can be enabled/disabled from Theme panel, from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/U3FauJxUPWcs
2)Unfortunately, the theme does not have any such an option that allows you to change the article title size for that section and for that element, but only if you will use some custom CSS code. Try the code below and place it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS area.
@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-big-grid-post.td-small-thumb .td-big-grid-meta .entry-title {
font-size: 13px;
}
}
The result is here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/VDJtFzc6pu
3)Unfortunately, it’s not possible this thing for that element, sorry! You need to check another slider element like iOS Slider if you like. Check it here -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ios-slider/
4)Sorry, but this functionality is made by JS and if you want to change it you should edit that core file. If you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this case, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
5)This is an example of our demo from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/4ZvUdaclDiK It seems to look similar to your example.
6)I have checked your website and the Ads seems to work as expected at the first time -> https://www.screencast.com/t/gVyoKpink Clear all the caches and check the results. Also, provide some useful screenshots of the problem.
7)Please provide some useful screenshots with the problem so I can take a closer look at it.
Thanks.
1 – that option is enabled but the categories are not shown
2 – ok i’ll try but there is too much space from the bottom anyway. Look at the red lines https://ibb.co/kJiRxq maybe it’s the category that pushes the writing down?
3 – ok thanks i’ll try
4 – ok. this is not a big problem anyway.
5 – yes, it is similar but they are both wrong. It is clearly seen that the photo has been distorted by the width. look at the picture above.
6 – no, you did not understand the problem. I do not mean the google ads below. I refer to the background ads. From Background —> THEME BACKGROUND and also in the ads panel —> BACKGROUND click ad. I set the image as you can see from here https://ibb.co/kmNiSq.
The problem is that the background is also loaded on the phone. For the background I set CUSTOM CODE —> ADVANCED CSS —> DESKTOP this code: .td-header-wrap {margin-top:115px;}. I don’t know why but on mobile layout, when pages are loading (for example when I click on an article on the homepage), I see for a few seconds the background that I set in the site. Is it not possible to prevent the ad from being loaded into the mobile version? look at the picture https://ibb.co/cVN07q
This is a page that is loading and you see the amazon logo that has been set as background. It’s really bad to see it during the loading of pages…moreover, there is no need to load additional content in the background on mobile phones. It is a useless data consumption
7-Are this dimensions correct? this is may psd file for create custom background ads https://ibb.co/jBSxLA
anyway my pc is 1920×1080 but if i set that background with the same dimensions, on the left and right side remain white spaces. Why? the resolution is the same. Look here https://ibb.co/kQZBfA
to cover the white part I had to set the size on photoshop at 2200px wide. I do not understand why.
Hi,
1. Seems to be a mistake. That setting Catalin mentioned is for the slide element. For the big grid slide category tag these 2 settings have to be enabled
– https://www.screencast.com/t/fc2D0Rd8O6e
The big grid slide is based on big grid 2, they share these category tag settings. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
2. That issue seems to be caused by a demo customization, in the Gadgets demo you have installed. I will add this issue on our list and it will be fixed in the next update. The gadgets demo uses a different grid in the homepage, with some custom design. That design seems to apply to the big grid slide you use. It will be made more specific if possible, so it does not affect other elements.
As a quick fix please enter this code in Theme panel->Custom CSS section
– https://pastebin.com/JHTbvyMk
Result – https://www.screencast.com/t/gJCoOVcYu
5. We are aware of this issue, the thumbnails are indeed distorted. A solution will be found for this as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Maybe a temporary solution would be to make the 2 bottom modules of the grid display like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/IAJAUQoMUl
If you should consider it, enter this code in Theme panel->Advances CSS in the phones field
– https://pastebin.com/2V3JrCbC
6. The background will be loaded on all devices when set, it is basically the same website but responsive. I have tested your website for a while on a mobile, kept refreshing pages or browsing. I don’t see the background at all on mobile.
7. With a background the width of the theme will be 1164px
– https://www.screencast.com/t/3MQBNqdaxIZ
The dimensions you are using should cover the screen since they have the same width and the background is set to 100% (when using the theme panel setting)
– https://www.screencast.com/t/taYOopLc
You seem to have set the background a different way from what I can see.
Let us know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Thank you for the reply.
6 – i tried severals time but i always see the background image during loading on mobile. So the loading cannot be prevented with a code? You can’t see on mobile devices, so I think it is a useless consumption of data.
7 – ok so i change from 1163 to 1164… but anyway I do not understand why setting a 1920×1080 background it will not cover everything. Now the background i set is 2200×1080 px…I leave it like this or are there other solutions?

6. Only if the mobile theme is used will there be a different (so to say) website loaded. If it’s not active exactly the same content is displayed on mobile. Just like viewing the website on desktop and starting to reduce the width of the browser window. The elements will adapt.
Currently the background when set will be loaded at all times. I will however add this on our list and it will be strongly considered. Since the background is not visible on mobile, no point being loaded indeed. A solution will be found.
7. I get the same result with the image you are using, resized to 1920x1080px it is behind the content
– http://prntscr.com/li5sct
At about 2200px it would be right – http://prntscr.com/li5t0j
Can’t say why exactly this is happening. While the content is 1164px it should display differently, quite unusual. Maybe keep using your current work image, it looks fine.
