We’ve been experimenting with the newer “big grid” elements. We devote the right 1/3 of our page to a advertising and have not been able to get any of the grids to respect the 2/3 + 1/3 allocation we’ve set for the row. The blocks and slider will stay in the 2/3 of the row we’ve set – but the grids won’t.
you can see what we’re talking about at http://www.mercerme.com/demo – there a big grid 6 is in the left 2/3 and block 2 in the right 1/3 of the row. Our current main page uses the slider that respects the 2/3 + 1/3 allocation http://www.mercerme.com.

The big grids were designed to be displayed on a full width row. If you want a 2/3+1/3 layout for the entire page you can’t use grids because theirs content will override other content from the right side of the page.
