Hi,
Is there any way to get the automatically generated thumbnail for this video post to fill the whole big slide slot? “Tour brings premier to UTM”: http://themedium.ca/
Alternatively, even just to use the featured image from the post instead of the featured video if that’s the only way.
Thanks!
Hi,
You could do via custom css like this: http://screencast.com/t/CiOywiOR
.td_block_big_grid .td-big-grid-post-0 .entry-thumb {
width: 100%;
}
But I suggest you regenerate thumbnails: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/ as an thumb image for that slider container should be created and used there. I have also tested this and as you can see it should work fine: http://screencast.com/t/z2Djej8fjYV
Thanks
Hmm… I installed the plugin and used the individual thumb regen (from the Media page in list view), and it says it successfully resized that thumb, but the problem persists. I’m hesitant to regen all thumbnails since the individual one didn’t work. When I inspect element on that thumb, I get <img width="480" height="360" ...>, but when I do it on the other big slide after scrolling to the right, that tag has 745 and 483. Is the tag using the wrong image size somehow?
It didn’t help, as far as I can see. :/
For an alternative solution… Is there a way to make video posts use the featured image in the big slider? I don’t mind making a PHP edit.
Hi,
Using the theme right should solve your issue and the post already uses the feature video for all thumbs, big slider also. The video is added inside the post but an feature image is also used: http://screencast.com/t/rnLRSaOt
I suggest you disable all plugisn, empty cache, purge files then edit that post remove the image then set another one, beast will be to upload a new image then check again. After doing this set the video url back to it and update the post.
Also try to test this using another video url and create anew post to check how it behaves.
Please let me know!
Thanks
I didn’t want to go to the bother of disabling, emptying, and purging everything, so I just manually switched the featured image back to the non-video one and am satisfied with the results. After all, it still puts the little play icon on the photo, which is great. Thanks for your help!
Hi,
I purchased the theme a few days ago and have begun playing around with it. I was able to create a post with Youtube video and the feature image came out fine, but when I tried to do the same using a Vimeo video, it created an undersized thumbnail.
I installed and ran the thumbnail regen plugin and cleared the cache to no avail. Thoughts?

Hi,
I have also tested this and tried to recreate it based on your details however I haven’t managed to find anything wrong with this.
I suggest you also try this without any plugins active and also empty cache and/or purge files if you use CDN host then try again leaving just VC plugin active. Also try to test this using various videos from vimeo.
Please let me know if you still can’t managed to get this done and also provide a screenshot of this issue or more details as your site can’t be accessed.
Thanks
Hi Lucian,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I disabled all but the VC plugin, emptied cache and tried multiple Vimeo videos, but am still having trouble with the image created by the featured video. The thumbnail it creates does not fit the dimensions of the big slide correctly.

Also disabled construction page so you should be able to visit http://www.trialsriders.com.
Thank you,

Hi,
I have tested this using one of the videos you’ve used and had the same issue: http://screencast.com/t/GOCdGAuO5O so it seems that this might be due to the theme as it seems that for some video it can’t download the big thumb image. I will add this to out issue tracker list for further testing and we will fox this as soon as possible and within the next update.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Thanks
