I have just started using newspaper 8 this week. When I try to edit a page with TagDiv composer (either a new page or an imported demo page), the composer menu is showing on the left, the page is blank on the right – and when I try to drag and drop the elements onto the black area it doesn’t do anything. I tried uninstalling all the plugins and only having composer plugin but did not make a difference.
Hello,
This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
I have done exactly what you have told me to try. It has not fixed the problem, no change.
Also – there is a browser security message: “this page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources” – When I click load unsafe scripts the page just has a circle loading button rotating but nothing happens. This is in chrome browser, it also does the same using internet explorer. Firefox has a black page builder page also.
I am using WP Engine as my host, not sure if this would make a difference.
Wp engine seems to create more and more problems for our theme. Please disable any tools provided by wp-engine. If you still cannot get it to work properly, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login and investigate.
Thank you!
Hi Bogdan
I have discovered the problem – as mentioned there was a browser security message: “this page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources”
The plugin will only load the scripts via https but my website url in settings was set to http so the page builder would not load. I changed the site url to https and now the Tagdiv page builder works.
Hopefully this will help anyone else who has the same issue.
Hi PML2017,
Thanks so much for posting your solution – so often people find their answer and don’t post what the solution was. You have saved me after an hour of frustration, and I hugely appreciate your post. Hopefully Bogdan/TagDiv will take note, and make suggestions based on your experiences as well.
Simple, and straight forward – worked for me at any rate, and I’m sure others out there will benefit from your solution.
Thanks again! 🙂 🙂
