https://www.westislandblog.com/neewspapertheme/ i’ve added a block on the page called More WEst Island News. I only want the tabs to show certain categories, not all categories. i’ve addede lifestyle, guest-bloggers, meet-the-business these categories in the Multiple categories filter, but it’s still showing all the categories.

I believe you are referring to the ajax filter menu. The category filter and the ajax menu are different things.
If you want to show specific categories in the ajax menu, enter the category IDs you want to appear here – http://prntscr.com/mkg5bf
The IDs can be seen here for example – http://prntscr.com/mkg5i6
