Blockr for Newspaper (FREE!) – A simple plugin to warn AdBlock Users

Most of us love revenue. But there is a evil thing called “AdBlock” or “AdBlock Plus” which removes advertisements from a website. I have created a plugin for the Newspaper theme which will display a simple warning/pop-up on the bottom-right-hand side of the website and can be closed.

Don’t worry, cause it will only show if the “AdBlock” is “enabled”. That means, it won’t show to general users.

Features:
1. Responsive
2. Built for Newspaper
3. Cookie support (will display after every 6 days if closed)
4. Free support at this thread (if tagDiv doesn’t have any problems with it πŸ˜‰
5. The warning message can be changed as well. Go to Settings>Blockr Options

The plugin is available for download for free from Dropbox: http://bit.ly/10WxZOz

Would love to hear your feedback guys πŸ˜‰

My impression off top of my head is that those who adore adblocker will use it no matter what, and a nag popup will likely only cause more “ire” and lower likelihood of return to site. On the other hand, a reminder that the site can only exist from ad revenue would likely be a good thing, although having that along with the “stories you might like” flyout might be too much flying for some.

Erm true but the thing is, most people will get tired of it and at the end they will deactivate it πŸ˜› I have tracked most of my visitors and as my site, is a tech site, most of the visitors are geek. So everyday, 4k visitors use AdBlock out of 6k visitors (total visitors). πŸ™

That’s why I developed it πŸ˜‰ And shared it with the tagDiv community as I think some folks would try it out.

Thanks for the comments, though πŸ™‚
