Blurry Images Despite Uploading High Res Images

Hi there! We’re stuck over here. We’ve gone through all the forums and posts regarding getting ultra clear images on our site, but just can’t seem to get it to work. We set up this test page to show what we mean:

http://pirl.com/photo-test-page/

The original photo is included at the bottom of the page, which looks very sharp. But as soon as we include it in any posts module or block, it seems the images are always blurry (to varying degrees).

We’ve tried almost all of the modules, we’ve tried regenerating thumbnails to exceed the width of the modules, etc etc.

Does someone have a best practice we can follow here? Or could someone from TagDiv log in to our site to set the image dimensions appropriately? Thanks!!

Hello,

It seems you do not have thumbnails activated or a few of the blocks. Please make sure the thumbs are on for each element that you use from this panel: http://screencast.com/t/VPZJbQmGKu
After you activate the thumbs needed, use the ‘force regenerate’ plugin to regenerate images again.
Also make sure you do not use any image compression or plugins as they tend to lower the quality as well.

Thank you!

Thanks for the reply! We’re still running into a few issues with this. We made some updates to this page:

http://pirl.com/photo-test-page/

Would you mind looking at example Block 13 (it’s noted).

For Block 13, the theme thumbail settings call for this image to use a thumbnail that is 324 pixels wide. However, the block is designed to go full width, so it looks quite blurry. How would we change this?

We regenerated all the thumbnails, too!

Thanks!

Hi,
Well block 13 on a full width layout will use the 696 thumb and stretch it a bit afterwards to the full width of the screen. This is the way it was implemented. http://screencast.com/t/3Rx3o0lLhn
It also affects block 18 and 20.
Thank you!
