I just tested our website on an iPad and most of the pictures in our articles are blurry.
They look perfect on our laptops and also on smartphones. The problem only occurs on tablets. The pictures have a size of 1200 px.

I have tested your site on ipad but I have found no blurry images. If our demo behaves the same way then it means there is a css that enlarges the images although I cannot see it on my ipad. The images do not have 1200px size not even on desktop. I’m not sure where you are getting the 1200px size. You can try to deactivate the post thumbnail in order to force the theme to use the full image instead of the 696 pixels thumbnail but this will impact page speed a bit.

Note this is common issue if using Photon/Jetpack.
Otherwise images look great on iPad Air and up (which is what I test our sites with).

It’s kind of strange. We just checked our website on 4 different iPads. On two of them everything is fine and on the other two the images are blurry. I tested not only our blog but also some other blogs using the newspaper theme including the theme demo.
It was the same with all the blogs: On two iPads it’s fine and on two other iPads it’s blurry. Maybe it has something to do with the version of the iPads.
Please try to check the difference between the 4 ipads. If the screen is smaller or bigger for the ones that do not seem to display the images properly. If it works on desktop, or on a mobile phone, then it should work on all tablets properly as well.
