We are currently looking for an upgrade-safe way of integrating Brightcove’s APIs into td_video_support.php under the wp-booster folder (so that when we post a ‘featured video’, the theme grabs a thumbnail from Brightcove and renders it as the image on the post).
We have been able to implement this – however we obviously understand it is not upgrade safe. I have a few questions:
1) Are we able to somehow make this implementation upgrade safe?
2) Or, are you able to implement this in the theme’s code? (we can send what we have written over, it is just the same just another case statement + a few functions to grab ids etc.)

Unfortunately there is no update proof way of altering the theme files. Sorry, Customization is as the name describes. Custom. An update replaces certain files to add the new code. The file needs to be replaced for the old theme to get the new code so your code will have to be re-added to the new file if it gets replaced. Unfortunately we cannot add the code in our theme. Our development team decides what gets implemented and what doesn’t and they have strict rules about everything that gets added in. Sorry.
