Broken 404 template ?

Hello

For some reasons, the default 404 template i’m using with Newspaper is displaying the Ooops message, ok, but also ALL my articles … That’s a lot …

In the admin panel it’s said “Shows the latest 6 posts from your site and “Ooops… Error 404, Sorry, but the page you are looking for doesn’t exist.”

I don’t think i’ve changed anything related to 404. And anyways i haven’t changed many things in this theme (installed a few weeks ago and patched to the last version). Also i would never change a page or any parameters to display ALL articles. So unless i’m completly missing something, if so excuse me, you should investigate if something is not broken in this template.

Best regards

Hello,

Well since we are not seeing this error on our end and no other user reported such an issue, I think it’s safe to say the error is not in the theme but rather on your end.
This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Thank you!

Hello Bogdan

Thanks for the advice. The thing is, i’ve made just a few changes to Newspaper, some indeed with a child theme, but nothing important at all. Well, perhaps it’s a plugin then …

Anyways, as a temporary solution i’ve deleted the code displaying posts in the 404 template.

Best regards
