BuddyPress and Sidebar question

I was wondering if there is a way to make just a BuddyPress pages only sidebar? I have tried creating a custom sidebar and adding the widgets of BuddyPress, but it still shows only the default sidebar. Could you possibly think of making a way to do it, because it just seems a little off seeing a default sidebar for BuddyPress pages, and just make it optional so for people that would not like it, then they can not have it. I have set the sidebar in the pages settings too to that sidebar that was created.

This just a suggestion, because I could add the BuddyPress widgets to the default sidebar, but I don’t want to overload the default sidebar anymore than it should be.

Actually it is too hard for me to even do. Can’t do it by WordPress, because of your theme won’t even let it happen WordPress dashboard way and it has to be hard coded, and I don’t know coding in PHP that well. I have no clue even where to start to make it work even in your theme codes. I rather just act like I am throwing in the towel and give up on this.

I recently got your theme thinking the integration would be easy with buddypress. Please make it more friendly in future updates.

I am having the same issue. In your theme description mentioned it is compatible with BuddyPress and my whole website is about community. Now I am about to launch and found sidebars are not setting up the way I want on BuddyPress pages. Here I have nightmare feeling. I am still struggling to set sidebars on BuddyPress pages the way I want. You should either consider it for BuddyPress sites and fix this soon or just remove saying BuddyPress Compatible Theme.

I am not sure why this is not working on your site but you can try to deactivate all plugins, leave just Visual Composer and BudyPress active, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test again. Also make sure that you’re using V 7.2 of Newspaper theme.

The ACTIVITY PAGE is the *ONLY* page that doesn’t work on buddypress (removes sidebar, footer, etc). What kind’ve schizophrenic crap is that?

The fact that either Buddypress or Newspaper theme still hasn’t updated this bug(?) is beyond me. When I bought this theme, the belief was it was compatible with buddypress. It’s been anything but. Working on this for like a week. Either I’m retarded, or it’s not user-friendly enough. Who knows.
