I recently updated my staging site to Newspaper 6.6.3 with Visual Composer 4.9 and Templatera 1.1.8, which are all the latest version. However Templatera no longer works. The button in the toolbar is normal a button that looks like a layout, but is now just a plus icon and doesn’t bring up the templates when I click on the button.
I have submitted a support ticket with WPBakery regarding this issue. They said the issue is likely a plugin or the theme I’m using and to try deactivating other plugins and try a default theme. I deactivated all of my plugins except for Visual Composer and Templatera, but the bug is still there. Unfortunately there is no way to test VC and Templatera with the default theme since VC is integrated into Newspaper.
Is there any reason why Templatera would not work with Newspaper? Is there a way I could test VC and Templatera with a default theme like 2015? Does anyone else use Templatera and have this issue?

Please note that the plugin is not tested with the theme and we cannot assure it’s functionality. Visual composer is not integrated into the theme, but rather bundled with the theme. The theme only removes a few features of the plugin which do not support theme elements (module/blocks). Visual composer can be used with a default wp theme for testing the Templatera plugin as on a WP default theme the Visual composer plugin will work in it’s default state (not modified by the theme).
As a bottom line other WPBakery plugins related to visual composer are not tested to work with our theme.
