Just a tip:
be sure to

a) backup your site, export dbase and theme settings
b) turn off any caching plugin
c) turn off any special things like mod_pagespeed
d) deactivate all plugins

1) delete old theme folder
2) replace with new theme version (don’t overwrite; which mixes old code with new)
3) delete old VC plugin if updated
4) upload new VC plugin if updated
5) clear browser cache several times
6) reset/expire any CDN content to refresh with new theme content/CSS

The above resolves 90% of the oddball “my theme panel doesn’t work” issues.

So I just installed 4.5 (overwrite method). But the CSS were missing for fonts and header/other sections. The site looked messed up. Fortunately, I had backup 😉

Lucian, is it because of overwriting?

Hi,

Please make sure you update the theme right: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
Also please make sure you do not have any js errors in the console also empty all cache/purge files and try again. This should work fine.
Also check this without any plugins active.
If nothing works please send an e-mail at contact@tagdiv.com and give us wp-access so we can check this.
Regarding the mobile menu the improvements made to it are related to it’s functionality and not its look, note that it has been completely rewritten.

Thanks

I also had same problems: the site css settings were lost and in theme panel almost nothing was editable anymore…
“Theme colors” was working and I noticed that the colors were those I set and not defaluts, so i just saved settings without changing anything and it came back as it was before.
Regarding the unusable panels I just hard refreshed my browser (ctrl+f5) and it worked.

Hope this helps!

…and I gotta say I scared to death during those endless minutes…

Hi,

Thanks @sgaddo!
(ctrl+f5) that means clearing browser cache as it redownloads the page!
Glad you managed to work this out!
Thanks for the message!
