Hi,
How do I change the byline on my website? Instead of saying by Sagamore, is there anyway to either remove this completely or have the ability to add another other instead? Also is there a way to remove the tweet, like and g+1 buttons above the byline since I already have social media buttons?
Thanks so much.
You can turn off byline on posts by unchecking “show” box in the post options for the theme panel as of 4.5. To change the “name” displayed, you set that on the user settings page in WordPress for each user/author.
BY “byline” I am assuming you refer to the “by line” which goes below the headline of a story and not the “author box”… which you can disable from the theme settings panel under post settings.
The theme doesn’t put share buttons above the byline, only below the story, as far as I know. If you’re using a plugin, it might be putting it there, and you can choose the settings in the plugin. You can turn the two types of social sharing buttons which come with the theme on/off from the theme panel under .. wait for it … post settings 🙂

Hi Chris – We do have the option to show “Show Author Under Title” selected to be active (Theme Panel, using Newspaper 4.6.1). Just wondering if there is some other reason why the byline does not appear below the title, although the author box seems to work fine? Thanks!
Hi,
Can you provide a link so we can take a look? What post template do you use?
Please check template files, maybe the author line is commented – http://screencast.com/t/vYJ7atE01
Thanks!
Hi – Staging site location is http://www.VenturaClassifieds.com
I doubt that author line is commented in template files as we have left theme (and child theme) mostly in original form. Byline appears on certain posts that used the Default style (Style 1) which was set up to ingest legacy content. Moving forward, looking to use Style 2 or 3, but bylines do not appear. Are we limited to displaying author only in certain styles?

Post not displaying author: http://www.venturaclassifieds.com/teen-brings-boyish-enthusiasm-to-church-worksite/
Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
Hi,
I think that the author line for post template 2 is commented by default, please check single_template_2.php like I suggested above and uncomment it, also clear cache Let me know how it goes!
Thanks!
