I’m setting up a ‘guide to Amsterdam’ website, and I would like to have sort of a ‘database’ of things to do in Amsterdam, that I can then link to from articles on my homepage. Would it be possible to add content in categories that will only show up when the user clicks on that category? That way I could have my homepage dedicated to news, walking tours etc, and have a seperate database of restaurants and bars etc. that I can link to. Is there a way I can do that?

Also, another question (sorry, I’m quite new to this..), I’ve selected a template for my homepage with two columns of articles with featured images next to eachother. This seemed to work just fine before. All of a sudden now there’s only one column of articles underneath eachother, which looks nowhere near as good. I’ve tried to change the template and set it back again, but it doesnt work. What am I doing wrong? My website is wwww.anamsterdamlocal.com..

Yep, just put articles in a category, and then exclude that category number from the blocks you create for the home page.
Using the theme builder takes some experimentation.
You also need to set your custom page as the homepage from the general/reading tab in your WP admin (see the theme docs for how to do that).

Thank you so much! I changed the entire homepage to make it more of a magazine style homepage, I never realised I could customize the homepage like this! Still a lot to do but I’m getting the hang of it! Just one more question: would it be possible to make the logo at the top bigger so it stands out a bit more? In all header styles it seems to stay quite small..

You can actually make it pretty big unless you’re trying to do the version with the advertising next to it ….
I do mine fairly big, but it’s centered with no ads on either side.

Hi,
I have checked your site and found that you use a logo image on header style 10(blog style). If you want to use that header style you have to use text logo: http://screencast.com/t/HJzEbpbvDU
On header styles with full size logo you should have a bigger logo also if you use a big image for this.
