Hello Jose,
If you have the background featured activated from the Theme panel, your theme will be boxed and the layout of the Footer and Main Menu will become boxed, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/3nF6pchNI If you want to get rid of this effect, you will have to remove your Background image and the theme will be switched to the normal layout.
