Noticed you use a very old version of Jquery, am I safe to update to the new one, if so, how?

How exactly are you checking the jquerry version? Looking in the source code of the website on my end this version is displayed

Hi!
I’m using Newspaper 9.0.1, WordPress 4.9.8 and it’s using jQuery 1.12.4, same problem here I would have to use a newer jQuery version. Newspaper v9.2 uses jQuery 3.3.1?

Hi,
After further research it seems that WordPress uses the version you mention
– https://wordpress.org/support/topic/why-wordpress-only-use-old-jquery-version-is-1-12-4/
Because of backwards compatibility I believe.
