Unfortunately the left and right spaces cannot be removed safely. the theme depends on a grid layout it was built on so changing the width of the theme will break the layout and every element needs to be adapted to the new width. We do not encourage this modification as it creates many problems. If you truly need to modify the site width and reduce the space between blocks, we suggest hiring a freelancer to help you out as more customization will be needed for elements to display properly.

I think you are aware that the theme has no borders by default and this is a customization. This however is no easy task. You will have to edit each block in order to get the borders set properly and it will require quite a bit of time. We recommend hiring a freelancer for this customization as it is a time-consuming job and we cannot offer any custom work at the moment (not substantial anyway). We try to help out where we can, but this involves quite a bit of tuning.
