Hi,
I would like to change the theme directory name “Newspaper” to something else. This is not supported.
I’ve checked this by renaming the directory name but after changing the name, at least the “tagDiv Multi-Purpose plugin” and “tagDiv Speed Booster plugin” won’t work anymore. I needed to revert back to the original name “Newspaper”.
Please advice.

You can change theme folder name, you just need to do it the correct way per the WordPress.org codex/docs.
Basically you can’t just change the folder name, you also need to change the stylesheet name in the main style sheet in theme folder, and put in explicit location of theme folder in your wp-config.php file.
I do this with the newsmag theme with no trouble.
You would then need to activate the *new* theme.
