I have a WP site using Newspaper and my wife has one too.
When she is creating or editing a post – she cannot edit or delete an image once it is in the post.
When I do similar on my WP site, I can click on an image and a little menu appears that allows we to edit / delete etc.
When I login to here WP site – I experience the same problem.

Switch to text edit mode and just delete the html for the image.
If using a template pulling featured image, you would need to delete featured image from that box on post edit page. Basic part of wordpress and not theme specific.
I have two separate WP websites using the Newspaper theme.
On one, I can add images to the post (NOT talking about the featured image) then once I see the image(s) in the visual editor section – I can mouse click an image and a small menu box appears which allows me to alter the layout, edit the image or delete the image (by clicking an x).
On the other website, clicking the image does nothing.

Hi,
This is unusual, I don’t think I saw this issue before. So once entering the image inside the post content, it cannot be removed or edited.
This could be caused by a plugin, try deactivating all plugins except theme plugins. Then check if the issue is solved.

It’s a fresh wp install – only plugin active is tagDiv Composer.
Problem persists.
