I also recommend you test this without using any plugins, leave just the Visual Composer active, empty all caches and try again.

The error appeared when i tried to upgrade the tagdiv Social icons plugin. The error disappeared once i disabled and deleted the plugin and reinstalled it and the please update message also disappeared as well
