My website, dailynewsng.com.ng is having issue related with canonical URL error resulting in duplicate contents.

I don’t know how to fix it. Any clue on it. I’m not a website developer but I think there should be a basic way for a layman to fix it.

What is the specific error noted and example of the page URL noted as a problem?

Note that sometimes things like external inbound links with hanger on urls will generate this error

yoursite.ooo/posts/name-of-post?12345
when actual post is
yoursite.ooo/posts/name-of-post

might generate that error — basically they are saying we ignored the first one and went with the canonical URL.

The canonical URL is the “actual” URL, separate from any amp, pdf, print, or other “version.” This should always be noted in the header/page info when looking at the html/page source.

Is there any way I can get that fix as a layman

If you have proper canonical tags in your pages (do ‘view source’ in Chrome of similar web browser), that should eventually take care of it.
