I’m getting a 403 access denied error when I try to activate. Also, I do not have a ‘manually activate” link.
Also, my site is on wordpress.com. I have no access to the files via ftp.

The Newsmag theme is very possible to not work correctly on wordpress.com because this platform/host do not allow you to install any plugins -> http://prntscr.com/q4x1j4 -> https://ithemes.com/tutorials/wordpress-com-vs-wordpress-org/ that you get this “problem”-> https://i.imgur.com/oQEFpBd.png
Usually this issue is related to a firewall or security module which blocks admin-ajax.php request. Please verify the console for error while saving the settings on the Theme Panel, usually it displays a 403 or 404 error.
