Can't Add Or Edit Posts In Gutenberg Editor

wpadmin hangs and shows a blank screen when we click on add new post or edit existing posts using Gutenberg editor. It has been working fine so far, did anything change in the theme or latest WP version compatibility causing this issue ?

Things work fine when we switch to older classic editor of WP.

This happened to me as well. I cannot edit posts or pages, and certain plugins need to be disabled to even access the editor.

Once there, the editor is broken and strange looking.

Did this WP update occur in the middle of the night?? Everything was working fine before.

But there does seem to be an issue with either the theme and WP 5.2 or the theme and Gutenberg in WP 5.2

Hi,

We could take a look, on our end everything works fine with WordPress 5.2 including using Gutenberg to edit/create posts.

Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin access so we can investigate.

Thanks

We isolated the issue through disabling all the plugins and figured out it was Wordfence plugin causing an access block to Gutenberg editor for adding or editing posts. Setting wordfence firewall rules on Learning mode and then restoring it to Enabled and Protection mode fixed the issue. Thanks for assistance.

The point to be noted is that this issue only happened on Newspaper theme based site, our other sites using other themes with the same wordpress landscape and wordfence firewall settings did not have this issue.

Hi,

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated. I have seen Wordfence (in some cases) causing problems when saving in the theme panel, setting the firewall to learning mode seemed to work in those cases.
I could add the issue you presented above on our testing list, our developers will take a look at it. But I can’t promise anything unfortunately.

Thanks
